I’m making prints of pictures for grandma right now. I’m going to visit my Mom soon and I need to find all the special pictures I’ve taken of my husband and me, our kids and, of course, the new grandchildren since the last visit.
My Mom has the best displays of family pictures I’ve ever seen! She has a four-panel room divider full of pictures of our family as we grew up – all six girls and Mom and Dad. Then she has a fun, wooden bench that she has covered with pictures of the 19 grandchildren. She has this shellacked good enough that the grandkids love to take turns sitting on it! And now, she has a bulletin board with pretty, colorful tacks of all the great grandchildren. So far, there are nine, but we have a few weddings coming up to add to the great grandchildren count.
My Mom also has dozens of picture books or carousels that are neatly stacked on end tables and shelves and bed stands. One is of just her six girls, one of just pictures of grandma and grandpa (my Mom and Dad), another of our baptism pictures, one representing each family, one of vacations we took while we were young and on and on! She has some of the nicest framed prints that announce grandmother or great grandmother (that’s what she likes to be called).
I know my Mom was the inspiration for my picture wall I’ve had in my home for almost 20 years. My husband and I, the kids, grandma and grandpa pictures and special occasions are all highlighted. And, I’m happy to say that our son and daughter both have a family picture wall themselves. Try it, it’s pretty fun! Find some unusual and great family frames at www.grandexpression.com
Advise from Nana: keep pictures of grandma, granddad, mommy, daddy and of a child’s special people in their lives where they can see them and react to them. And remember a picture is the perfect gift for grandma and grandpa at Grand Expression.
